Urs Mannhart reads from his book «Lentille. Aus dem Leben einer Kuh»: A report on the complex networks of relationships between humans and non-human beings, demonstrating just how enriching it is to spend time in the presence of a ruminant cow. Vivid and close to the animal, this essay paints a compelling portrait of a cow and the herd of eight she belongs to.

Mannhart lives as a writer in La Chaux-de-Fonds and engages with animal philosophy, with quantum physics in photosynthesis, the migratory behaviour of birds—and with the question of how such subjects can be transformed into literature.
