De-Domestication is a shared art practice of Brazilian drag jaguar Uhura Bqueer and Swiss drag cow Soya the Cow. For Arten Festival, they exhibit three photographs from the Amazon — a territory threatened by deforestation, monocultures, and the displacement of wild animals and Indigenous communities for cattle ranches and agribusiness. Between the pop cow and the sacred jaguar, between ritual and protest, they propose de-domestication as a gesture of poetic and political liberation.
Uhura Bqueer (BR) works at the intersection of drag, queer resistance and decolonial practice. Soya the Cow (CH), winner of a Swiss Performing Arts Award 2025. Together, the two drag animals create work that exposes links between systemic oppression, speciesism and the climate crisis.
