Sibylle Berg reads from her most recently published novel «PNR: La Bella Vita». It depicts a future after a successful revolution against capitalism. A group of activists has overcome the old financial and social order, and Europe is now attempting to build a new system based on solidarity. Yet Berg presents not only an utopian vision but also its complications: even without capitalism, living together remains difficult, and the new order feels at once hopeful and fragile.
Sibylle Berg is a Swiss-German playwright and author who has published, among other works, 32 plays and 17 novels. For the novel «GRM – Brainfuck» she received the Schweizer Buchpreis and the Grand Prix Literatur 2020. In 2024 she was elected to the European Parliament.
