Julia Weber reads from her novel «Weil ich Ruth bin», published this year. Ruth is a very special person. She is born with fur, just like her mother and grandmother before her—and loses it at the end of childhood. And Ruth has «the power». She can transform people into animals, temporarily. And people flock to her, wanting to be a jellyfish for a while, a lobster, a dog, a bird, a lizard—and to forget the bills, the office meetings, the housework, all of modern life.
Julia Weber lives in Zurich and soon also in Genoa. She completed an apprenticeship as a photography technician and then studied literary writing in Biel at the Schweizerisches Literaturinstitut. She also runs the Literaturdienst.
